I'm hoping to have a couple items to show you in the next few weeks but this is the first.
Hello Fall and Fall Knitting!
Pattern - Sienna Cardigan from Interweave Knits Fall 2006 - 40" finished size
Yarn, Needles, and Notions - 5 Skeins of Jaeger Shetland Aran on size 9 circular needles, 5 Vintage Wooden Buttons
Details and Modifications - This was an easy pattern that knit up pretty quick on size 9 needles but it doesn't feel like a "chunky" knit. The yarn called for (Blue Sky Alpaca Worsted) is much denser and would have made a more substantial sweater but I liked the fabric the shetland aran made. It came out lighter in a way but still holds it's shape beautifully and does not distort with the 16 sts per inch gauge requirement. This is a perfect casual sweater, fitted enough to feel finished but with plenty of give to wear over heavier undershirts. The pattern itself was easy to understand and seemed to be error free, there was a little confusion with the collar but it seemed to work out fine.
Thanks for looking.
P.S. I really love the neckline and although the buttons are larger and of a different shape then those called for I think it works. Please don't tell me if it doesn't.
beautiful job, gorgeous sweater; and you're right - the buttons work!

Oh, cute! Much more attractive than I remember the sample in the magazine being. Looks like a cardi that you'll reach for regularly in the chilly months.

A) You're a mom of YOUNG children (multiple children, no less)
B) You knit with the speed of a machine
C) You're amazingly talented
How in the heck do you accomplish it all?? I'm in awe!

How did you manage to model that? It's adorable, but man, it's stinking hot outside...
Let's talk about setting up something around the end of the month.

What a great color! You can wear it anywhere and look like a put together person. Not like me in my Columbia fleece sweat jacket that I know all the other moms are getting tired of.
